Joseph Romani

Originally from Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, and currently based in Daito City, Osaka, Joseph Romani is a seasoned business leader with deep expertise in manufacturing, innovation, and international business development. Beginning his career in corporate sales at a mold manufacturer in Aichi—serving clients across the automotive supply chain from Tier 2 to final assembly—he has since built a diverse and impactful global career.

He played a key role in launching Hilltop USA’s Silicon Valley office, supporting prototyping efforts for startups such as Uber, Cepton, and Berkeley Lights. At Canon USA, he promoted innovation through product validation using Lean Startup methodology, particularly in the field of semiconductor equipment. He later joined Monozukuri Ventures, where he focused on supporting startup prototyping and forging relationships between Japanese manufacturers and startups across the U.S. West Coast.

At JETRO Kyoto, he led initiatives to build an international startup ecosystem by planning events, supporting community engagement, and assisting foreign entrepreneurs with visas and business development.

Now as Founder and CEO of Omnilinks Inc., he supports global startups—especially those in AI, IoT, platforms, and DeepTech—entering the Japanese market, and helps Japanese companies expand overseas. His strength lies in bridging technology, business, and culture to enable cross-border innovation and collaboration.
